Ask anyone about the foundations of indie-rock and they’ll likely mention Built to Spill in their first breath. The band has relentlessly released striking records that continue to test the limits of creativity and musicianship in a genre where this is often overlooked. This summer, Built to Spill will headline the 2009 Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and the 2009 Siren Music Festival in Coney Island, New York City. Their new album, There Is No Enemy will be released in advance of this gig, probably late this summer.
